2019 Year in Review
2019 was a great year in the life and ministry of First United Methodist.
Here are a few of the amazing things that happened in 2019.
Started our new Children's Ministry "The 605" on Wednesday nights. We are reaching over 40 elementary-aged students each week.
Continued growth in Youth Ministry
Introduced a new 2-day Vacation Bible school format
In October we held our inaugural "Trunk or Treat" event
We added the new beautifully lit flame on the front of our building
We continued to see growth in membership
Upgraded our sound system to bring a top-quality sound to our worship services
Introduced Vanco Online Giving which Gives our congregation the opportunity to give with cards, online and with mobile devices
We created this new, user-friendly website
We provided Hot Lunches for school-age children during the summer and on Christmas and Easter breaks.
We worked with a Strategic planning consultant and formed focus groups in January and reviewed and identified what the church’s plan is for the future
Created a Scholarship opportunity to assist seminary students in their theological education.
We started the process to upgrade all the wireless internet, network infrastructure and electrical wiring in the church
We served alongside many great ministries such as Tree of Life, Servants Hearts Clinic, LaGoanve Alive, Habit for Humanity, Pathways Shelter and many more.
As we look back on this year, we have so much to be grateful for...and we look forward to welcoming all God has in store for us as a church in 2020. Wishing you a #HappyNewYear with the hope of many blessings in the year to come!
Have a Blessed New Year!
