*SONG OF DEDICATION #400 (UM hymnal) (tune)

                                                                   “Nicodemus Sought Out Jesus”

Nicodemus sought out Jesus at a lonely, quiet hour.

He said, “Teacher, God is with you! For in you we see God’s power.”

Jesus turned and gave an answer filled with challenge and with love:

“You can never see God’s kingdom till your’re born from heav’n above.”

“Born again!” said Nicodemus. “Is that something one can do?”

Jesus said, “Don’t be surprised now that you must be born anew.

And it’s not by your own doing; wind and Spirit both blow free!

They are not for your controlling; trust in God for what will be.”

God, your Spirit still surprises like an ever-changing wind,

Bringing life and love and justice where despair and death have been.

May we see your Spirit working as a gift from heav’n above.

Blessed, may we then be a blessing to this world that you so love.

Summer Worship is underway! Sunday service will be at 10:00 a.m. starting on June 3rd. Wednesday service will be at 6:30 p.m. starting Wednesday, May 30th. A simple meal will be offered before the Wednesday evening service, starting at 5:45 pm and a free will donation will be collected. Nothing says summer quite like a grilled hot dog! The Wednesday night service will be taking a week off for VBS and resuming on Wednesday, June 13th. Also, note there will be no service offered on Wednesday night July 4th. Whether you plan on attending Sunday or Wednesday night, for a midweek pick-up, we look forward to worshiping with you this summer. Peace and blessings from the Worship Committee

Seats & Feets The Evangelism committee will be collecting underwear and socks thru May 27th. The donations will be distributed on Thursday, May 31st when FUMC serves The Banquet. You can help by taking a sock and/or underwear cutout from the clothes line located in the lobby, purchase the size indicated, and return it to church and place it in the tote.

United Methodist Women a wonderful group of spirited women met May 7th. A heartfelt devotion was shared by Sherry Daugherty. Carolyn Cappel shared a humorous reading and also a devotion and litany for Mother's Day. Our main speaker, Dr. Tom Stanage shared a very interesting, sad and yet informative talk on the subject of suicide. You never know when your smile, your kind words, your thoughtful gesture could help save a life. Once again we had a display table as a reminder of sacred spaces. Where is your sacred space? At the table with your morning coffee or over a cup of tea? Perhaps it's in nature now that it's warmer out – in the garden or on the porch or sitting by your sun-filled window watching the birds build their nest? Where is your sacred space? I'm not looking for an answer. You know where your sacred spaces are. I remember when I had young children my sacred space was in the bathroom with the door locked..The only place I seemed to have privacy. Our sacred spaces change from age to age, from season to season, from year to year. And for many,.. and the way I think Christ meant it to be, is that our sacred space goes with us wherever we are. After a short business meeting, A lovely dessert luncheon was served by Susan Becker and Corinne Ditmar. There will not be a June UMW meeting, but a social "lunch out" date will be planned later in June for all United Methodist Women.

The Banquet our church will be serving The Banquet on Thursday, May 31st. There are sign-up sheets in Wesley Hall for food and volunteers. Please donate some food and/or time if you can. It’s a great way for our church and its people to show caring and concern for our own community. The Evangelism Committee will be distributing donations for Seats and Feets at The Banquet. Please join us for an evening of fun and fellowship.

The Missions Committee

Summer Coffee Fellowship during the summer will be on Sunday morning before the worship service from 9:15-9:45. A pot of coffee will be available. There will not be a sign-up sheet for treats or to serve, but if someone wants to bring something to share, they sure can.  Disposable serving products will be used for fast and easy cleanup.

Come along and join us for the Ride of a Lifetime during Vacation Bible School at the Rolling River Rampage. Students will learn how to serve God and God's mission for their lives. Their lives may be bumpy and take crazy turns, but our stories, songs, activities and crafts will teach them how to handle the waves and keep God in their sites.
