OPPORTUNITIES FOR MINISTRY & SERVICE

RITUAL OF FRIENDSHIP (Please leave complete address)

ANTHEM              “Christ Is Risen, Alleluia”                      Chancel Choir

*CALL TO WORSHIP

Morning has broken, but this morning is different.

The birds are singing tunes of joy in the trees surrounding the graves.            Soon the flowers buds will burst in colors vibrant around each stone.

We’ve come to visit the grave, but “He is not here.”

The sun is rising in the East; the shadowed grays turn bright! The Son           is risen in our Hearts; darkness and death end in defeat.

Now we understand what Christ said, what God did. Now we can proclaim.

            Christ Is RISEN! Hallelujah!!

 *OPENING PRAYER

*HYMN OF PRAISE #302 (UM hymnal) (stz. 1-4)

“Christ the Lord Is Risen Today”

*AN EASTER AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

Risen Lord, your light is the only light we need as we travel through life’s      mystery.         Your word, the only voice we hear that still small voice that leads us         to the place where we should be. Your presence is the only company we need as we walk this narrow road. Your fellowship the warmth we crave to    help us on our way.

            May the truth of Easter

            The joy of Easter

            And the blessings of Easter

Be with us this day and all days. Amen

Get My People Going: The Fourth Commandment: Sabbath Rest

When the children of Israel traveled through the wilderness, they needed to rest along the way. Remember the fourth commandment, which talks about Sabbath rest? Most adults need 7–9 hours of sleep, but average only 6.9. Children need 10–11 hours. The National Sleep Foundation has created an educational website for children at www.sleepforkids.org that includes games and puzzles. Sleep is critical for people of all ages!  For more information, contact Susan Thorson, Faith Community Nurse 661-9302.

Fellowship Coffee Time, Sundays 9:30 to 10:30am. Coffee fellowship between services is a time to relax, welcome guests, and get to know our church family while enjoying something to drink and have a treat. Would you furnish treats for Sunday? We are looking for persons to sign up for a Sunday in April, or May. You will need approx. 6 doz. cookies, bars, muffins or donuts or etc. Carol makes the coffee and does the set up. You will serve, do the dishes and clean up. There are extra treats in the freezer that are donated by folks that are not able to serve, so do not worry if there are more people than treats that you brought! There is a sign-up sheet in Wesley Hall or you can call/email the church office or Carol Becker 665 4694/ pcabecker@vyn.midco.net. Thank you to those who have volunteered to provide treats and/or serve in the past.
