*CALL TO WORSHIP

Love has come down to us this Advent Season.

Divine love which heals and transforms our lives.

With great joy, we receive that love and share it with others.

We open our hearts to all God’s children, the last, the least, and the lost, as well as those who feel privileged.

The Lord has done and continues to do great things for us.

Praise be to God who loves us so much and who challenges us to be people of joy in this darkened world. AMEN.

Christmas Eve Services

Our annual Christmas Eve services will be held at 4:30pm and 7:00pm on Sunday, December 24th.

*Special note* - this year the Traditional Candlelight service will be at 7:00pm.

We are excited to announce that the Christmas Eve 4:30pm service is called "The ABC's of Christmas". The Christmas story will be told in a creative way with congregation participation and the ABCs. This is a fun, interactive service with lots of singing for families with young children and adults with young hearts! It is a great service to invite your friends with children as well. The 7:00pm service will be the Traditional Candlelight service. Please come, invite a friend, and let's do Christmas together.

Offering Envelopes If you would like to continue using the offering envelopes for your weekly giving please contact Lisa in the church office. Because so many envelopes go unused we are doing things differently this coming year.

KYNT Radio Broadcast It’s time to sign up to sponsor a Radio Broadcast during the 2018 year.  The signup folder is located on the table in the Church Lounge. If you want a certain date, get signed up right away.  The cost to sponsor a Sunday broadcast is $45.00.

The New Year for United Methodist Women An invitation to all women of First United Methodist Church: 🎄 Due to the holiday, UMW (United Methodist Women) will meet Monday, January 8, at 1:30pm for the Annual Pledge Service and installation of officers. We will meet in the Church lounge. Refreshments will be served following the program.

Advent Study For our Advent study this year we will be using Adam Hamilton's book "Faithful, Christmas through the eyes of Joseph" We will be meeting the following Wednesday evenings at 7:15pm in the Church Lounge, Dec. 20th.  Cost of the book is $15. In this study, you will understand how Joseph's place in the nativity story is much like our own. In life, we encounter circumstances that we would have never chosen for ourselves. At times it can be tempting just to walk away. Joseph provides us a great example of humbly obeying God even when we don't understand and faithfully moving forward in the strength that God provides. Exchange your doubt for courage this Advent and Christmas season.

- Prison Ministry Team There is one opportunity left this year to be part of the church services at the Federal Prison Camp. On December 31st, FUMC will be leading the service and anyone interested can participate. A recent background information sheet will need to be filled out and given to Corey. There are some located on the information desk or in the church office. If you have any questions, contact Corey, Bob Thue, or Paula Keehr.
