*CALL TO WORSHIP

Let us worship God with our hearts and our souls and our minds!

Let us know love for one another, for Christ, and for all the world.

Let us proclaim God’s glory as we take Christ’s love to the world.

Let us share the love of Christ in all that we do wherever we go.

Let us lift our hearts in praise and song for God’s mercy and grace.

Blessed be the name of the Lord!

*OPENING PRAYER

*HYMN OF PRAISE #549 (UM hymnal) “Where Charity and Love Prevail”

*LITANY “Take Our Hand”

Someone, please, take my hand! I am alone in this land.

We too have walked alone through strange places.

I am weary of this journey –

We too have wandered in the dark.

I am helpless and afraid –

We too have wanted to shout!

But will God hear me in the night? Will someone lead me to the light?

We are here; we are your people. Take our hand.

A huge thank you to those who have volunteered to help usher for our worship services. We are still in need of assistant ushers for the 8:30 am and the 11:00 am service the 2nd Sunday of each month.  Beginning in November we will need four ushers for the 11:00 service the second Sunday. We would also like to increase our pool of substitutes to help out when needed. Please prayerfully consider helping out with this important ministry of our church.  Please contact Craig Sherman, if you wish to help out with this ministry. Email: cs2254@yahoo.com or 665-7182.

The Yankton Area Literacy Council is providing a program entitled “Math is Fun” to elementary students in the Yankton School District. Volunteers work with children for 1 hour, from 3:30-4:30, each week to help them improve their addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills. A lot of our work is done with flash cards. When needed, we also provide assistance with time-telling and money counting skills. We presently have tutors in each of the 4 elementary schools. Administrators have more children they would like to include, but we need volunteers before they can be added. If you think you could help a child improve his/her math skills, or if you have questions about the program, please call the Yankton Area Literacy Council (605) 760-4803 or Patty Stuelpnagel, 605-660-1088.
