*CALL TO WORSHIP

The owner of the vineyard comes among us!

Let us offer songs of praise.

The owner of the vineyard comes among us!

Let us rejoice together.

The owner of the vineyard comes among us!

Let us offer the fruits of our labors.

*OPENING PRAYER

*HYMN OF PRAISE #545 (UM hymnal) “The Church’s One Foundation”

*LITANY

In the morning God plants the roots of the trees. In the evening the Lord

inspects the harvest.

The planting is good; may the reaping be so.

The Lord looks for justice:

Let us not give God bloodshed, spilling like wine down great

ancient mountains.

The Lord longs for justice:

Let us satisfy God’s longing, as God grants us mercy.

The Lord looks for righteousness:

Let us not hurl a cry in the face of our God.

The Lord longs for righteousness:

Let us satisfy God’s longing, as God grants us mercy.

The planting was good; may the reaping be so!

You may then turn this card into the Welcome Table in the lobby at the base of the staircase and you will receive a Welcome Bag!  Thank you for being with us today!

Website Coordinator needed we are looking for someone to build a new website for the church. If you would like more information please contact Jenae Norton.

- The Annual Soup Kitchen and Country Store, is Wednesday, October 18th, will be an important day for our church. It is an opportunity for our entire congregation to enjoy great fellowship while working together toward a very worthy goal. The event is a project of the United Methodist Women but it needs everyone to successfully raise funds designated for camping scholarships and local missions. How can you be involved? Your donations of food and items for the Country Store are needed as well as your willingness to work during the day. A “white elephant” table will also be part of the Country Store. New, like new, and never used household and personal items may be donated for sale. No clothing, please. Remember if you are canning, the Country Store can always use home canned things. There is a form in the bulletin to be completed and turned in no later than October 9th. Please complete the form to limit the number of calls needed to contact everyone. We count on your help to make this a very successful event.

A huge thank you to those who have volunteered to help usher for our worship services.   We are still in need of assistant ushers for the 8:30 am and the 11:00 am service the 2nd Sunday of each month.  Beginning in November we will need four ushers for the 11:00 service the second Sunday.  We would also like to increase our pool of substitutes to help out when needed.  Please prayerfully consider helping out with this important ministry of our church.  Please contact Craig Sherman, if you wish to help out with this ministry.  Email: cs2254@yahoo.com or 665-7182.

KYNT Radio Broadcast Sponsors Needed

The signup folder is located on the table in the Church Lounge. October 29th and several dates in November are available.  There are other dates still available. The cost to sponsor a Sunday broadcast is $45.00.

Federal Prison Camp the Evangelism committee will be having the church services at the Federal Prison Camp on Oct. 15th and Dec. 31st. We are looking for individuals to join us in this ministry.  If this is something you would be interested in or have questions, please contact Paula Keehr at 665-5501 or p.keehr@vyn.midco.net. Everyone will need to fill out a background check form even if you have filled one out previously. They are located on the information desk at the bottom of the stairs and can be returned to the office. We will be sending them in sometime in August.
