A Time of Gathering and Praise

REGISTERING OUR ATTENDANCE (please leave complete address)

Come and worship the God who is one.

We come to worship knowing we are fragmented.

God knows that we are weak.

We know what we want to do, but we don’t get it done.

Come to Jesus and learn to let God live though you.

We are weary of failing. We offer ourselves to our saving God.

*HYMN OF PRAISE #103 (Um hymnal)

  “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise”

Mark tells of the man brought to Jesus who was deaf and could hardly speak. Jesus put his fingers in the man’s ears and touched his tongue. At once his ears were opened, his tongue was set loose, and he began to talk.

Touch me, God, that I may use my tongue to speak words of truth, and that I may listen to the cries of those around me and heed their call.

Jesus was confronted by two blind men who requested healing. When asked if they believed he possessed such power, they answered yes; he touched their eyes, and their sight was restored.

Touch me, God, that I may comprehend those things that I see. Remove my spiritual blindness, and challenge me to minister to those needs I see around me.

While preaching in a certain town, Jesus was confronted by a man covered with leprosy. He reached out and touched the man; the leprosy left him and his body was healed.

Touch me, God, that I might be healed in body, mind, and spirit. Help me to be a whole person and receive the benefits of life that You have to give me.

The three disciples, as they heard a voice proclaim Jesus as the Beloved of God at the transfiguration, threw themselves to the ground in fear. Jesus came to them and touched them as he said, “Do not be afraid.”

Touch me, God, and remove my fear because of things I do not understand; guide me in the future as I need the touch of Your guiding hand.
