*CALL TO WORSHIP

Come and learn the way of our God.

We will learn and observe them to the end.

Let God turn your hearts to his ways.

We want God’s ways more than selfish gain.

Let God turn your eyes from vanities.

We would rather have the life that God’s way brings.

*OPENING PRAYER

*HYMN OF PRAISE #64 (UM hymnal) “Holy, Holy Holy!”

*LITANY “The Good Life”

Blessed are you who–when the Lord says, “Ask what I shall give you” –do not

ask for long life,

For we know that the good life does not consist in the length of days.

Blessed are you who–when the Lord says, Ask what I shall give you” –do not ask for riches,

For we know that the good life does not consist in the abundance of things.

Blessed are you who–when the Lord says, “Ask what I shall give you” –do not ask for the humiliation of your enemies,

For we know that the good life does not consist in the working vengeance.

Blessed are you who–when the Lord says, “Ask what I shall give you” –ask only for an understanding heart,

For we know that the good life does consist in the spirit of discernment.

Give us the ability, O God, to discern between good and evil, and the courage to do not our will but yours.

2017 High School Mission Trip to Mission, TX

June 24 to July 2, 2017   serving those in the heart of southern Texas

Join Youth from all over the Dakotas United Methodist Conference as we travel to the southern tip of Texas to serve our brothers and sisters in need in the “Colonial” — a small strip of land just north of the USA — Mexican border. We will depart on Saturday, June 24, and return on Sunday, July 2.  We will spend Saturday night on the road on the way to Mission, TX.  We will work Monday through Thursday at a variety of sites, mostly doing light construction work. During this time we will stay in dorms and cabins at a local camp that is a beautiful and well-equipped facility.  Each of our work days will begin with breakfast in camp followed by working in teams at various sites.  While at the work site, we will have a sack lunch and noon devotional time. Each evening we will return to camp for clean-up, dinner, worship, and some free time. We will travel to San Antonio on Thursday evening and spend Friday there at the Six Flags Amusement Park.  We will travel a few hours Friday night and then most of Saturday to get to Topeka, Kansas. There we will have our closing worship and return home on Sunday.

Registration will be opening soon!

Cost of the Trip $ 750

Deposit $150 due at registration

May 15th - Final Payment - $300
