SPECIAL MUSIC                 “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”

Jubilee Bells & Trinity Lutheran Bell Choir

With what shall we come before God this day?

With love and justice, with compassion and kindness.

With what shall we worship the Lord this day?

With humility and mercy, with faithfulness and righteousness.

Come into God’s presence, not as perfect beings,

but as people of hope and blessing.

Blessed are the poor in spirit.

Blessed are the meek and the merciful.

Blessed are the sorrowful and those who dream

   of peace and righteousness.

Bring your dreams. Bring your sorrows.

For all are welcome here!

*HYMN OF PRAISE #451 (UM hymnal) “Be Thou My Vision”

*LITANY:  “We Have Come Here To Be Taught By Jesus”

L:   Like those first disciples who climbed the mountain to hear Jesus,

we have come here to be taught by him.

P:   May God Bless our hearing.

L:   Blessed are you who have chosen to be poor, for you are truly rich.

P:   These words are hard.

L:   Blessed are you meek, for you alone are prepared to meet God.

P:   These words rebel against our reason.

L:   Blessed are you who take risks for the sake of the oppressed,

for you can understand the isolation of Jesus.

P:   These words carve frowns on our brows.

L:   Blessed are you peacemakers, for while your neighbors may

forsake you, the Lord shall never forsake you.

P:   How can we make peace when all the world is against us?

L:   Blessed are you when you are ridiculed for righteousness’ sake,

for you are in good company. Rejoice and be glad, for Jesus and

the prophets were also ridiculed for righteousness’ sake.

A:   As these words afflict our ears, let them also prick our hearts.

      We have come here to be taught by the Teacher;

let us not reject his teaching.

2017 High School Mission Trip to Mission, TX

June 24 to July 2, 2017               serving those in the heart of southern Texas

Join Youth from all over the Dakotas United Methodist Conference as we travel to the southern tip of Texas to serve our brothers and sisters in need in the “Colonial” — a small strip of land just north of the USA — Mexican border.  We will depart on Saturday, June 24, and return on Sunday, July 2.  We will spend Saturday night on the road on the way to Mission, TX.  We will work Monday through Thursday at a variety of sites, mostly doing light construction work.  During this time we will stay in dorms and cabins at a local camp that is a beautiful and well-equipped facility.  Each of our work days will begin with breakfast in camp followed by working in teams at various sites.  While at the work site, we will have a sack lunch and noon devotional time.  Each evening we will return to camp for clean-up, dinner, worship, and some free time.  We will travel to San Antonio on Thursday evening and spend Friday there at the Six Flags Amusement Park.  We will travel a few hours Friday night and then most of Saturday to get to Topeka, Kansas.  There we will have our closing worship and return home on Sunday.

Registration will be opening soon!

Cost of the Trip $ 750

Deposit $150 due at registration

February 1st - First Payment - $300

May 15th - Final Payment - $300
