*CALL TO WORSHIP

Listen up, everyone!

God has given us work to do.

God has called each of us

  before we were even born.

It was God who named us.

It is God who claims us.

The light of God’s love shines in us.

Let’s shine God’s love into all the world!

*OPENING PRAYER

*HYMN OF PRAISE #568 (UM hymnal) “Christ for the World We Sing”

*LITANY FOR HUMAN RELATIONS DAY

Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on us.

As we gather in this place, allow your Spirit to fill our very being.

As we worship today, we remember our brothers and sisters

who are worshiping elsewhere throughout the world.

Inspire each of us to work more faithfully for justice

and dignity of life everywhere.

Raise our vision above the barriers of color, culture and creed

that separate us.  Give us wisdom as we deal with one another.

Help us to recognize and to respect different ways, rather than to judge.

In the Spirit of Jesus who came not to be served, but to serve,

we now must walk in the world.  We must reach out our hands

with help and open our hearts in love.  Awake in us the desire

to seek your way of serving you in the world.

Amen.

2017 High School Mission Trip to Mission, TX

June 24 to July 2, 2017               serving those in the heart of southern Texas

Join Youth from all over the Dakotas United Methodist Conference as we travel to the southern tip of Texas to serve our brothers and sisters in need in the “Colonial” — a small strip of land just north of the USA — Mexican border.  We will depart on Saturday, June 24, and return on Sunday, July 2.  We will spend Saturday night on the road on the way to Mission, TX.  We will work Monday through Thursday at a variety of sites, mostly doing light construction work.  During this time we will stay in dorms and cabins at a local camp that is a beautiful and well-equipped facility.  Each of our work days will begin with breakfast in camp followed by working in teams at various sites.  While at the work site, we will have a sack lunch and noon devotional time.  Each evening we will return to camp for clean-up, dinner, worship, and some free time.  We will travel to San Antonio on Thursday evening and spend Friday there at the Six Flags Amusement Park.  We will travel a few hours Friday night and then most of Saturday to get to Topeka, Kansas.  There we will have our closing worship and return home on Sunday.

Registration will be opening soon!

Cost of the Trip $ 750

Deposit $150 due at registration

February 1st - First Payment - $300

May 15th - Final Payment - $300
