- Thank You !Thank You !Thank You!  A huge shout of thanks to the Sr. High Youth Group.  I simply made a phone call to Corey asking for some help in moving my Mom and her husband.  It was at the last minute and certainly interfered with their plans for that evening.  I was greeted with great respect and the answer of yes. You will never know how grateful we were to see the church van and another car load of strong kids pull up that evening.  The youth treated my parents and their belongings with great care, respect and with a great attitude.  These youth were a true blessings to an elderly couple who were in need of help.   Once again our church family were there to provide the help when needed.  Thanks again Corey for saying yes and for doing a great job of teaching the youth of how they can be a blessing.  Nice to be able to count on our church family.  God’s blessings to all.     Denise Willman

- Advent Study Ebenezer Scrooge is a man in dire need of a second chance. Is redemption possible for such a greedy, dark and sad character? The Redemption of Scrooge, from Matt Rawle’s The Pop in Culture Series, shows us how the teachings of Jesus can be found in Dickens’ Christmas classic. From the ghosts of Christmas past, to the Life of the present, and the resurrection of Christmas future, this Advent study will “bless us every one” and reinvigorate our spiritual journeys as we look at this familiar story through the lens of faith.

- Live Nativity FUMC Members and Friends, we cordially invite you to join us for a performance of the Live Nativity to be held Saturday, December 17th, at 5:30 and 6:30 pm. Come and see the Christmas Story presented by members of our own church, along with live goats, sheep, and Mary's kind conveyance, the donkey. Experience Jesus' birth out under the open sky, with stars shining above, and then refresh yourself with warm drinks and warm fellowship in Wesley Hall after the performances. Parking spaces will be reserved for those who should not be out in the cold, preferring to watch from their cars.

- BUY A BOOK - GIVE A BOOK to a child in Haiti!

Title: "Even A Little Raindrop", author - Bruce Blumer

This is a story that was told by Bruce's father, which he passed to his children, and now his grandchildren. It's an inspiring story. Books are available in Wesley Hall, or from Gena Brandt

for a gift of $10 to LaGanove Alive. The books will be delivered to the Haitian children, by a mission team from our church, heading to Haiti the end of January, 2017.

- Blue Christmas You are invited to the Blue Christmas Service, on Wednesday, December 21 at 5:30 pm. This service is a time when we can, with others, acknowledge the “blue” feeling we have at Christmas time, the reasons for them and offer them to God. This time has been called the “long, dark night of the soul” and “the winter of our discontent” in which memories of past experiences & the pain of present experiences can be overwhelming. We will invite you to reflect on the pain, the loneliness, and the sadness you may feel at this time of year and offer it to God for healing and transformation. Always remember that God knows your pain and loves you unconditionally.

- Membership Class we will be leading a Membership class in January, it will consist of 2 sessions from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm with child care available if needed.  The class is for those who are transferring their membership from another UMC or from another denomination as well as those who have no membership in any church at the present time.  Persons interested in attending this class should RSVP to church office (665-2991 or, Corey (665-2991 or or Rev. Ron (665-2991 or by Monday, December 26th, so we can make the necessary arrangements.  If you have questions, please contact Rev. Ron or Corey.  If you are interested in joining but can’t attend the class that day, let us know that, too.

- Calendars Available 2017 calendars, compliments of Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home, are now available. You can pick them up from the table at the top of the stairs or outside the Church Office.

June 24 to July 2, 2017                Serving those in the heart of southern Texas

Join Youth from all over the Dakotas United Methodist Conference as we travel to the southern tip of Texas to serve our brothers and sisters in need in the “Colonial” — a small strip of land just north of the USA — Mexican border.  We will depart on Saturday, June 24, and return on Sunday, July 2.  We will spend Saturday night on the road on the way to Mission, TX.  We will work Monday through Thursday at a variety of sites, mostly doing light construction work.  During this time we will stay in dorms and cabins at a local camp that is a beautiful and well-equipped facility.  Each of our work days will begin with breakfast in camp followed by working in teams at various sites.  While at the work site, we will have a sack lunch and noon devotional time.  Each evening we will return to camp for clean-up, dinner, worship, and some free time.

We will travel to San Antonio on Thursday evening and spend Friday there at the Six Flags Amusement Park.  We will travel a few hours Friday night and then most of Saturday to get to Topeka, Kansas.  There we will have our closing worship and return home on Sunday.

Registration will be opening soon!
