OPPORTUNITIES FOR MINISTRY & SERVICE

RITUAL OF FRIENDSHIP (Please leave complete address)

*CALL TO WORSHIP

Ask, and it will be given you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the

door will be opened for you.

We knock on the door of heaven.

For everyone who asks receives. Everyone who searches finds. And for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

We ask for the bread of salvation.

Just as we yearn to give good gifts to our children, so the Holy One yearns to give us good gifts, welcoming all who come as children of the Living God

We seek the God who calls us.

*OPENING PRAYER

*HYMN OF PRAISE #152 (UM hymnal) “I Sing the Almighty Power of God”

*LITANY #886 “Let Us Prayer”

Let us pray, “O God, hallowed by your name” –

And let us honor the name of God with works as well as with words.

Let us pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is

in heaven” –

And let us shake the foundations of earth in the name of heaven,

that what is unshakable might remain.

Let us pray, “Give us this day our daily bread” –

And let us daily break our loaves, and bless them, and share them with the crowds.

Let us pray, “Forgive us our debts, for we forgive everyone who sins against us” –

And let us love greatly, for those who love little forgive little.

Let us pray, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil” –

And let us never place a stumbling block in the way of our neighbor.

Let us pray all these things, that our manner of life light become worthy of the gospel

That we might stand firm in one spirit and strive together with one mind, all for the sake of one great love –
