*CALL TO WORSHIP

Today we celebrate our mothers, grandmothers, aunts/and all the

women who have loved us.

Thank you God for giving us mothers

We remember with deep gratitude all the ways they demonstrated

their love for us.

Sometimes we did not understand them, but we know that God understood.

We take time to remember our mothers because a mother’s love is

most like God’s love.

For their tears, for their hugs, for their wisdom, for their unfailing

trust in our abilities, we give you thanks today!

 *OPENING PRAYER

*HYMN OF PRAISE #154 (UM hymnal) “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name”

*LITANY FOR MOTHER’S DAY

Mothers come in many different forms, and today we celebrate them all!

            Thank God for mothers!

Everyone here is either a son or a daughter.

            Thank God for my mother!

For those women who have joined God in Heaven and whom we miss dearly             here on earth.

Thank God for the mothers of the past.

For every woman who is working day and night to raise her children right now.

Thank God for the mothers of today.

For all the women who are expecting, but aren’t quite mothers yet!

            Thank God for the soon-to-be-mothers.

For the women who took in others’ children through adoption and foster care.

Thank God for the mothers with hearts so big.

For those women who have lost a child to death and must carry on.

Thank God for the mothers who are so strong.

For all the women who wanted to have children of their own, but chose instead             to mother everyone else.

Thank God for the mothers in spirit. We thank you, Lord, for the women who have influenced our lives in so many ways. We pray that we will honor them in everything we do. Amen.

Youth News

Sr. High 9th–12th grade

We meet on Wednesday nights in the Youth Room. 7:15-8:45pm Lesson and discussion

Our current lesson series: Un-Religious

Are you religious? What if being religious isn’t the way to go, but instead it’s all about having a relationship with God? When we start to look at things from that perspective, it opens up a whole new world in our lives. Join us as we discover what it looks like to be Un-Religious.

KFC 6th–8th grade

We meet Sunday nights in the Youth Room 6:30pm-7:30pm

Our current lesson series Are We There Yet?

Our families are so crucial to developing us into who we will become. They shape how we go through life as well as our perception of who God is. Family is the number one influencer in a teenager’s life–and where they spend the majority of their time. In the four-week series "Are We There Yet," students learn to navigate through their family situations and discover who they need to be to create a healthy family dynamic.

In Our Thoughts and Prayers:

Church family serving in the military: all men & women serving in the military and their families.

Above are the most recent prayer concerns. For prayer partners, a complete list is on the

Welcome Table.

(If you have prayer requests for publication, please contact the church office.)
