*CALL TO WORSHIP

Come, all who would walk by faith; gather in the house of the Lord!

We are called by Christ to give witness to God’s love and power.

We are called to proclaim to a doubting world that Christ truly lives!

In our hearts and in our lives the message of God’s mercy rings true.

Then let us raise our voices as one in adoration and sing!

Blessed be the name of the Lord!

This all-girl facility focuses on abused and neglected girls from the ages of 7 to 23.   A presentation at a recent meeting by the Development Director inspired the group’s desire to see the good work being done.  We will take the church van and as many cars as needed, leaving the church parking lot at 8:00 a.m. and returning about 4:00 p.m.  There is no cost; however, we will have reservations at a local restaurant for lunch, which will be at your own expense.  You NEED NOT be a member of UMW; just call Joan at 260-9564 by May 29 and a place will be reserved for YOU!

- On behalf of the Finance Committee, thank you to everyone who purchases Hy-Vee cash cards through First United Methodist Church. The Committee recently approved a request to remodel the Jr. High Youth Room at an estimated cost of $5,538 using some of the proceeds from past Hy-Vee

card sales. Last year alone, FUMC raised $6,206 through this very simple and valuable ministry that everyone can participate in. Hy-Vee cards are available for sale each Wednesday & Sunday before and between worship services. A special thanks to all past and present church members and office staff involved in this ministry.
