*COMMUNION HYMN #168 (blue hymnal) “Let Us Break Bread Together”

    Christ be with you.

And also with you.

    Lift up your hearts.

We lift them up to God.

Let us give our thanks to the Holy One.

It is right to give our thanks to the Holy One.

And so, with your people on earth, and all the great cloud of

witness in heaven, we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Holy, holy, holy One, God of power and might

heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest.  Blessed is the one who comes

in your holy name.  Hosanna in the highest.

And so, in remembrance of your might acts in Jesus Christ,

we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a hold and living

sacrifice as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Christ has died.  Christ has risen.  Christ will come again.

Maker of justice and mercy, Spirit of compassion and grace,

Lover of all creation, we give you thanks and praise.

-Thank You – I want to start off by expressing gratitude for your recognition of my scholarly advancements.  Yankton First United Methodist Church has supported me throughout my years and I am very thankful for that backing. There are so many opportunities that I have been able to experience because of the support that the church has given me.  My current endeavor has me at Seminary in Chicago of all places.  Being here at school has been another wonderful and priceless experience, and I am only in my first semester!  I have been learning so much from my classes, friends, and Chicagoland.  Because of your constant support, I know that I am able to achieve all that God has set before me.  It has been such a blessing to be a part of such a wonderfully supportive church home.  Thank you all again for your love.  Valerie Hummel

- The Evangelism Committee is preparing to spread goodwill this Christmas and are asking our church family to join in the Fun! Several 24 inch decorated Christmas Trees will be delivered around the community after Church service on Christmas Eve.

We are asking everyone to, either bring in items to decorate the trees with, and/or make a donation toward the purchasing of ornaments and garland on/or before the 2nd service on Dec 21st, 2014 or at noon.  Anyone wanting to help decorate the trees may join Katheryn in Wesley Hall. There is a Donation Box at the bottom of the stairs where you can drop off any financial assistance on your way out today. Uncovered costs will be covered by Katheryn personally; you may contact her at:

(605) 655 - 4892 if you have any questions.

At the end of Church Service, on Christmas Eve, we ask each member to take one of the decorated trees home that night; until they are gone. On your way home, pray and ask God which home to leave it at. Then look for one along the way who has left Christmas Lights on, but have already gone to sleep, and place it on their front porch/staircase. Each of these will be wrapped & ready for making a random stranger in town wake to a Special Surprise; and you get to create that smile coming in the waking morning. Merry Christmas to my Church Family ~ Time to Spread the Love of Jesus' Birthday Once Again!   Thank you for your part in making Jesus stand out this Christmas Season!
