*CALL TO WORSHIP

You are the Sower, O God; we are the seed.

God’s word is being sown in our lives this day. In God, we live and move and have our being.

You are the Lover, O God; we are the beloved.

God’s love blossoms in our lives with a beauty greater than the lilies of the field.

You are the Healer, O God; we are the healed.

God’s healing flows through our veins with every beat of our heart.

You are the Potter, O God; we are the clay.

God’s hand fashions us into lamps to shine forth the light of Christ.

Come, everyone, come and worship the One who sows us in the fields of Love.

*OPENING PRAYER

*HYMN OF PRAISE #732 (blue hymnal) “Come, We That Love the Lord”

*LITANY: “Sowing Our Seeds In Good Soil”

You who are thirsty but do not have the money, come and drink,

That the word of the Lord might accomplish its purpose.

You who are hungry but do not have the price, come and eat,

That the word of the Lord might accomplish its purpose.

You who labor but do not get your reward, come and consider,

That the word of the Lord might accomplish its purpose.

You who scatter seed but do not reap the harvest, come and plant,

That the word of the Lord might accomplish its purpose.

Let us drink the water of life and eat the bread of heaven. Let us sow our seeds in good soil, that others might reap the fruit of our labor.

- A huge thank you for your support and prayers for our Mission Trip to Seattle, WA.  We had many challenges along the way (starting with me (Diane) leaving my purse on a chair at the church – luckily I realized it before we got to Gayville and Rev. Ron was gracious and brought it to us).  We were divided into 11 work teams, that served at different locations each day, some of the things we did were paint bunk beds, package bulk items in to small bags for distribution, sort clothing, gardening, cook and serve a meal, play with kids and help around  camp Indianola.  We also got to do a little sightseeing, the view from the Space Needle is amazing! Please take the time to ask us about our trip. Thank you again for making these trips possible with your financial support. (Stephanie Anderson, Kylee Duncan, Tanner Dykstra, Sean Garcia, Ryan Golden, Sam Gusso, Kirsten May, Ben Mooney, Alleysia Ugofsky and Diane Kisch)

They are: 6 cloth diapers, 2 shirts or one-piece body suits, 2 baby wash cloths, 2 gowns or sleepers, 2 diaper pins, 1 sweater or open front jacket, 2 receiving blankets (not crib blankets). You are encouraged to watch for sales and help with this project.

- Weird Animals VBS - Aug 3rd-7th The FUMC will be hosting the program Weird Animals for VBS this year.  This program is only successful due to the church family becoming involved.  Committees have received their assignments and work has begun.  There will be sign up posters in Wesley Hall for all positions available.  Age doesn't matter, there will be an area for everyone to work in.   We will need shepherds, craft help, story tellers, game helpers, donations of food, craft supplies and props.  Please consider taking part in this fun adventure. VBS is from Aug 3rd-7th and begins at 5:30pm for the meal which all children, volunteers and families are invited to attend.  The program runs from 6:00-8:00pm and there will be a finale program for all to attend on the 7th at 8:00pm.  Mark your calendars and come join in on the fun.  We need you and you will be blessed.  If there are any questions, please call Denise Willman at 665-2869 or 857-0435.

- Donate your old computer! Laptop, desktop, broken, working, computer parts, cords, all welcome. All computers will have data destroyed before being given away. If it can't be fixed, it will be recycled at a proper electronics recycling station. Please bring computers and computer parts and place them in the closet under the main stairs. If you cannot bring them in, we can pick them up. Contact Garrett, Gena, or Merle Brandt.
