*CALL TO WORSHIP

  Come, everyone, come and worship!

God welcomes us all.

Come, all whose hearts are heavy.

God welcomes us all.

Come, all who doubt.

God welcomes us all.

Come, all who trust in God.

God welcomes us all.

Come, everyone, come and worship!

*OPENING PRAYER

*HYMN OF PRAISE #100 (blue hymnal)

“God, Whose Love Is Reigning Over Us”

*LITANY: “From This Temptation, Dear Lord, Relieve Us”

God has baptized us into Christ Jesus that we might walk in newness of life.

Yet we are daily tempted to tread the old paths.

From this temptation, dear Lord, deliver us.

The grace of God increases in proportion to our sin. So we are tempted to enlarge our transgressions that grace might abound.

From this temptation, dear Lord, deliver us.

We were not worthy of the love with which God in Christ redeemed us from sin.

Yet we are sorely tempted to reserve our love only for those who deserve it.

From this temptation, dear Lord, deliver us.

Jesus’ victory over sin cost him shame, suffering, and a cross. Yet we are tempted to think that his followers can lead a risk-free life.

From this temptation, dear Lord, deliver us.

The cross was the cost of his obedience to God. Yet we are tempted to let him bear the cross alone, and let the rest of the world go free.

From this temptation, dear Lord, deliver us.

Give us the grace, dear Lord, to embrace the way of the cross even as we praise the Lord of the cross.

- KYNT Radio Broadcast The signup folder is located on the table in the Church Lounge. July 6th, 20th, 27th available.  If you want a certain date, reserve it now.  The cost to sponsor a Sunday broadcast is $45.00.

- VBS Meeting We will be hosting a 2014 VBS meeting on Sunday, July 6th at 7:00pm. This will give us the opportunity to hand out supplies needed to each committee.  We will also go over details of appointed tasks.  It would be great to have at least one member of each appointed committee show up so they can pass the information to the others.  All volunteers are invited to join us and gain knowledge of what will be happening the week of VBS.  We will also be working on props each Wednesday evening from 6:30-9:00pm, Thursdays and Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00pm.  We can use any extra workers willing to help.  We have to make a jungle and the more helpers we have then the bigger the jungle and more exciting it will be.  If you have any questions, call Denise Willman at 665-2869 or 857-0435

- Night Club we will continue to hold Night Cub through the summer months. We are starting a new book called The Girls Still Got It by Lizz Higgs. It is the study of the book of Ruth.  We start at 7:30pm and everyone is invited. We meet in the Upper Room and use the North door. If you have any questions you may call Denise Willman at 857-0435.

- United Methodist Women’s Project in an effort to make it more affordable to put together Layette Kits for the Marketplace, UMW is asking all members of the church to make note of what it takes to put these kits together and collect individual items which will later be assembled into complete kits. At each UMW meeting baskets will be out to collect items. Church members may give items to UMW members or leave the items at the church office to be added to the collection. Items needed must be new. They are: 6 cloth diapers, 2 shirts or one-piece body suits, 2 baby wash cloths, 2 gowns or sleepers, 2 diaper pins, 1 sweater or open front jacket, 2 receiving blankets (not crib blankets). You are encouraged to watch for sales and help with this project.

- In need of toilet paper rolls We will be doing a craft with toilet paper rolls for VBS this August.  Could you please help us by saving your toilet paper rolls and dropping them off at the office.  We will need around 200.  Thanks Denise Willman

- Conference mission trip We ask for your prayers as we return home today from our mission trip to Seattle, WA.  I would ask that your prays be for us to find places here in our community that we can continue to be servant and share the Love of Christ with those around us.  Those that are on the trip from our church are Stephanie Anderson, Kylee Duncan, Tanner Dykstra, Sean Garcia, Ryan Golden, Dustin Gusso, Sam Gusso, Kirsten May, Ben Mooney, Alleysia Ugofsky, and Diane Kisch

- Weird Animals VBS - Aug 3rd-7th The FUMC will be hosting the program Weird Animals for VBS this year.  This program is only successful due to the church family becoming involved.  Committees have received their assignments and work has begun.  There will be sign up posters in Wesley Hall for all positions available.  Age doesn't matter, there will be an area for everyone to work in.   We will need shepherds, craft help, story tellers, game helpers, donations of food, craft supplies and props.  Please consider taking part in this fun adventure. VBS is from Aug 3rd-7th and begins at 5:30pm for the meal which all children, volunteers and families are invited to attend.  The program runs from 6:00-8:00pm and there will be a finale program for all to attend on the 7th at 8:00pm.  Mark your calendars and come join in on the fun.  We need you and you will be blessed.  If there are any questions, please call Denise Willman at 665-2869 or 857-0435.

- Camp even though the Early Bird deadline is past you can still register for camp. The cost would be at full price, however the church and UWM will still cover ½ of the early bird cost for one camp per youth (K-12th grade) you are responsible for the balance. If you have any questions please talk to Diane Kisch.

- Mark your calendars The Bike and Build riders will be in Yankton on July 13-15th!  I am looking for people to assist with meal preparation and transportation of the riders to showers.  Call Julie at 605-661-3374 if you would like to share in this amazing experience.

- Donate your old computer! Laptop, desktop, broken, working, computer parts, cords, all welcome. All computers will have data destroyed before being given away. If it can't be fixed, it will be recycled at a proper electronics recycling station. Please bring computers and computer parts and place them in the closet under the main stairs.
