*CALL TO WORSHIP

Today we recall what God has done:

Proclaim it from the housetops.

God’s saving work in Jesus Christ,

Proclaim it from the housetops.

Resurrecting us into new life,

Releasing us from the power of sin and death,

- VBS Meeting We will be hosting a 2014 VBS meeting on Sunday, July 6th at 7:00pm. This will give us the opportunity to hand out supplies needed to each committee.  We will also go over details of appointed tasks.  It would be great to have at least one member of each appointed committee show up so they can pass the information to the others.  All volunteers are invited to join us and gain knowledge of what will be happening the week of VBS.  We will also be working on props each Wednesday evening from 6:30-9:00pm, Thursdays and Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00pm.  We can use any extra workers willing to help.  We have to make a jungle and the more helpers we have then the bigger the jungle and more exciting it will be.  If you have any questions, call Denise Willman at 665-2869 or 857-0435

- Night Club we will continue to hold Night Cub through the summer months. We are starting a new book called The Girls Still Got It by Lizz Higgs. It is the study of the book of Ruth.  We start at 7:30pm and everyone is invited. We meet in the Upper Room and use the North door. If you have any questions you may call Denise Willman at 857-0435.

- United Methodist Women’s Project in an effort to make it more affordable to put together Layette Kits for the Marketplace, UMW is asking all members of the church to make note of what it takes to put these kits together and collect individual items which will later be assembled into complete kits. At each UMW meeting baskets will be out to collect items. Church members may give items to UMW members or leave the items at the church office to be added to the collection. Items needed must be new. They are: 6 cloth diapers, 2 shirts or one-piece body suits, 2 baby wash cloths, 2 gowns or sleepers, 2 diaper pins, 1 sweater or open front jacket, 2 receiving blankets (not crib blankets). You are encouraged to watch for sales and help with this project.

- Random Act of Kindness Rummage the Night Club Ladies would like to say a big THANK YOU to all those who helped out in so many different ways.  We were able to make $1350 and will be using the money toward the purchase of a water well through World Vision.  The Sunday School classes started this project and we are adding to it.  A well cost $3,000, with the Sunday School offering and the Random Act of Kindness Rummage Sale were are at about $2,550.  Not bad for just starting in January. Again, thanks to every for all your efforts.  As Mary Pierce always tells me, "Many hands make light work".  It always works out and it’s because of so many of you willing to help out.  Thank You, Denise Willman

- In need of toilet paper rolls We will be doing a craft with toilet paper rolls for VBS this August.  Could you please help us by saving your toilet paper rolls and dropping them off at the office.  We will need around 200.  Thanks Denise Willman

- Conference mission trip We ask for your prayers as 9 of our youth arrive in Seattle, WA today.  We pray that the work we will be doing touches the lives of those we are there to serve and that the Love of Christ is evident in everything we do.  Those going from our church are Stephanie Anderson, Kylee Duncan, Tanner Dykstra, Sean Garcia, Ryan Golden, Sam Gusso, Kirsten May, Ben Mooney, Alleysia Ugofsky, and Diane Kisch

- Weird Animals VBS - Aug 3rd-7th The FUMC will be hosting the program Weird Animals for VBS this year.  This program is only successful due to the church family becoming involved.  Committees have received their assignments and work has begun.  There will be sign up posters in Wesley Hall for all positions available.  Age doesn't matter, there will be an area for everyone to work in.   We will need shepherds, craft help, story tellers, game helpers, donations of food, craft supplies and props.  Please consider taking part in this fun adventure. VBS is from Aug 3rd-7th and begins at 5:30pm for the meal which all children, volunteers and families are invited to attend.  The program runs from 6:00-8:00pm and there will be a finale program for all to attend on the 7th at 8:00pm.  Mark your calendars and come join in on the fun.  We need you and you will be blessed.  If there are any questions, please call Denise Willman at 665-2869 or 857-0435.

- Change for Life Kids for Christ is raising money to assist with fundraising for the Relay for Life on June 27, 2014. We ask that you save “Change for Life” and help us make a difference in the life of someone with cancer.  The kids raised $500 through their Maundy Thursday meal and they have set a goal of raising $1000!  Please save your change and support a worthwhile cause!

- Camp even though the Early Bird deadline is past you can still register for camp. The cost would be at full price, however the church and UWM will still cover ½ of the early bird cost for one camp per youth (K-12th grade) you are responsible for the balance. If you have any questions please talk to Diane Kisch.

- Mark your calendars The Bike and Build riders will be in Yankton on July 13-15th!  I am looking for people to assist with meal preparation and transportation of the riders to showers.  Call Julie at 605-661-3374 if you would like to share in this amazing experience.

- Donate your old computer! Laptop, desktop, broken, working, computer parts, cords, all welcome. All computers will have data destroyed before being given away. If it can't be fixed, it will be recycled at a proper electronics recycling station. Please bring computers and computer parts and place them in the closet under the main stairs. If you cannot bring them in, we can pick them up. Contact Garrett, Gena, or Merle Brandt.

- Divorced Separated and Widowed Support Group The Family Education and Counseling Center, Inc. is pleased to announce that they have assumed sponsorship for this incredible program that has been a mainstay of the Yankton community for many, many years. The Divorced, Separated and Widowed group is a process designed to help those who have experienced any of these life change moments and would like some help processing those changes.  The group is faith based, but non-sectarian.  The next Groups will be starting on Monday September 22, at 7:00 PM, and will meet at Riverview Reformed Church, 1700 Burleigh St., Yankton.  If you have any questions or would like to register please call Family Education and Counseling Center, Inc at 605-260-9284.

- The Early Bird Deadline has been extended to July 7th for Dak Youth 14! The cost is $185 through July 7th.  If you have any questions about this event talk to Diane Kisch, Stephanie Anderson or Alleysia Ugofsky.
