- Presentation and Spirituality and Dementia Peace, Be Still: Sustaining Spirituality through Alzheimer’s and Dementia. How the practice of payer offers strength, courage, and calm in the uncertain world of advancing cognitive illness. Ellen McVay, MSW, a clinical social worker, spiritual director, and teacher of Centering Prayer, draws from her own experience in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. With Jan Wiersma, a pastor and chaplain, Ellen tells how her practice of prayer and meditation have given her the means to “choose to be happy” in all circumstances. Saturday, February 22nd, 10-11:30am, at Christ Episcopal Church, 517 Douglas, Yankton. Free and open to the public.

- Camp Sunday February 23rd will be Camp Sunday. We encourage everyone to attend worship that day dressed as if you were going to camp (jeans, tee shirts, shorts). Following the 10:30 worship service, the eighth grade confirmation class will serve lunch consisting of grilled hot dogs, beans, chips, salads, juice and rice crispy bars.  This will be a free will donation with proceeds supporting camp scholarships. A brief meeting will be held at 12:00 for those planning to attend a camp so that we can answer questions and coordinate schedules.  Please remember that there will be additional camp scholarship money available to those who apply along with having the early bird prices available.  If you have questions, please call Diane Kisch at 660-1242.

- Program Council Meeting We are starting our Program Council Meetings to meet with the Chairs and Vice-Chairs of the Education Committee, Evangelism Committee, Missions Committee and the Worship Committee. This meeting will help keep all the Program Committee's informed or give assistance.  Our first meeting will be Tuesday, February 25th at 6:30 pm in the Upper Room. Child care provided.

- Ladies Night Club Lock-in Ladies Night Club will be holding a lock-in March 15th. Watch the bulletin for more details. Everyone is invited.

Habitat Rummage Sale the Habitat 500 Team is seeking donations for their annual spring rummage to be hosted at FUMC on April 4th & 5th.  Start your spring cleaning. Call Tom or Jane Gilmore at 665-8303 to schedule a time for your donations to be picked up.  All proceeds from this event support our local Habitat for Humanity.

- Tree of Life Ministry The Rosebud Reservation is the second poorest county in the entire USA.  Over 1,000 people depend on “Tree of Life” for free hot meals each week.  With cutbacks in food stamps, the ministry is more needed than ever.  Without an increase in financial support the ministry may have to curtail their food pantry and hot meal program during the winter months.  With that being said, the Missions Committee has committed to continue the Miles of Pennies into the New Year.
