- International Food Fest The Missions Committee will be hosting their 3rd Annual International Food Fest on January 19th from 5-7 pm in Wesley Hall. The Food Fest has been a time of great fellowship and a time for us to hear from different members of our Church family on the various mission opportunities they have had this past year. We hope to see you all there! If you have any questions, please get a hold of Nick & Tracy Kisch or any of the Missions Committee members and we would be glad to help in any way we can.

- Help those in need on Human Relations Sunday, Jan. 26th. Human Relations Day is one of the opportunities for United Methodist Churches to celebrate our connectional work. This day of social action and raising awareness aims to heal social ills at the national level. It supports Community Developers, United Methodist Voluntary Service (UMVS), and the Youth Offender Rehabilitation Program. The first two programs are administered through the General Board of Global Ministries.

- Offering Envelopes there are still some envelopes that have not been pick up. If you haven’t picked yours up please do so today. They are located in the lower level lobby.

- Walk and Talk Bible Study with devotional is specifically designed to be used while you walk with a friend, a member of your congregation, or by yourself. The primary objective of the Walk and Talk

Bible Study is to help communities incorporate healthy habits into their lives of faith through physical

movement and spiritual enrichment.  Each month there is a different theme which provides 4

devotionals on that theme for a total of 48 devotionals. There is a scripture passage, a short reflections and a series of questions and a closing prayer.  If you are interested in purchasing a book for $6.00 please contact Susan Thorson, Parish Nurse at the church office 665-2991.  Talk to your friends and think about doing this Bible Study to replenish your bodies with good exercise and spiritual enrichment.

- The Women's Bible Study that meets in the Upper Room during Sunday School, will be starting a new study called James Mercy Triumphs by Beth Moore.  This Study provides a personal study five days a week plus 8 video sessions of this in-depth women's Bible study. James, Jesus' own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple.  Please join us on Sunday, February 9th, during Sunday School at 9:45am or on Wednesday, February 12th, at 6:30pm.  Both times meet in the Upper Room. This Study will end in May.

- Financial Peace Class Once again, we will be hosting the Financial Peace Class.  We will offer two classes.  The first class will start at 4:00pm on January 26th and the second class choice will start on Tuesday, January 28th at 6:30pm.  This is an excellent opportunity to start the year out right and get started on some financial strategies that can help you become debt free. Please feel free to contact Denise Willman or Laurie Bailey for more information.  This class costs $99 and is offered free for any former FPU graduates that would like to take it for a refresher course.  You may contact Denise at 606-665-2869 for more information.

- Tree of Life Ministry The Rosebud Reservation is the second poorest county in the entire USA.  Over 1,000 people depend on “Tree of Life” for free hot meals each week.  With cutbacks in food stamps, the ministry is more needed than ever.  Without an increase in financial support the ministry may have to curtail their food pantry and hot meal program during the winter months.  With that being said, the Missions Committee has committed to continue the Miles of Pennies into the New Year.

- Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday, Feb. 2nd the Sr. High youth will be collecting monetary donations and food items for the National Souper Bowl of Caring.  Food items will be donated to the Contact Center and the money will go to a local organization (to be determined yet) that helps to feed the hungry.  Last year we collected $426.80 our goal for this year is $450.

- Faith and Home On Sunday, February 2nd the Faith and Home class will be led by Lance and Kristi Palecek at 9:45 a.m. at the east end of Wesley Hall.  The title of this class is “Teaching your Child to Pray.”  Contact Susan Thorson, Parish Nurse with questions at the church office 665-2991.
