We gather wondering, “Where will we find the Bethlehem baby?”

We will find him in the laughter of children, in the wisdom of grandparents.

We gather wondering, “Where will we find the child of Christmas?”

We will find the child where the needy are blessed, where the oppressed are set

free.

We gather wanting to know, “Where will we find the Christ who has come for us?”

We will find hope where grace overwhelms fear, where love shatters hatred, where joy fills all people.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION FOR EPIPHANY SUNDAY

PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST

Arise, Shine with peace and love for all who are gathered here!

GREAT THANKSGIVING FOR EPIPHANY

         The Lord be with you.

            And also with you.

            Lift up your hearts.

We lift them up to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise.

And so, with your people on earth, and all the company of heaven, we praise your name             and join their unending hymn, saying.

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might. Heaven and earth are full of your

glory. Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the

            Lord. Hosanna in the highest!

And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts, and your wisdom revealed in Jesus             Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving, as signs of light and life, wisdom             and truth, in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.

- United Methodist Women The United Methodist Women will meet at 1:30pm Monday, January 6th. The meeting will include the pledge service. All women of the church are encouraged to be part of our mission-oriented group.

- Walk and Talk Bible Study with devotional is specifically designed to be used while you walk with a friend, a member of your congregation, or by yourself. The primary objective of the Walk and Talk

Bible Study is to help communities incorporate healthy habits into their lives of faith through physical movement and spiritual enrichment.  Each month there is a different theme which provides 4 devotionals on that theme for a total of 48 devotionals.  There is a scripture passage, a short reflections and a series of questions and a closing prayer.  If you are interested in purchasing a book for $6.00 please contact Susan Thorson, Parish Nurse at the church office 665-2991.  Talk to your friends and think about doing this Bible Study to replenish your bodies with good exercise and spiritual enrichment.

- International Food Fest The Missions Committee will be hosting their 3rd Annual International Food Fest on January 19th from 5-7 pm in Wesley Hall. We will have sign-up sheets in Wesley Hall for you to write down your name, what you will be bringing, and what Country the food is from.  The Food Fest has been a time of great fellowship and a time for us to hear from different members of our Church family on the various mission opportunities they have had this past year. We hope to see you all there! If you have any questions, please get a hold of Nick & Tracy Kisch or any of the Missions Committee members and we would be glad to help in any way we can.

- Financial Peace Class Once again, we will be hosting the Financial Peace Class.  We will offer two classes.  The first class will start at 4:00pm on January 26th and the second class choice will start on Tuesday, January 28th at 6:30pm.  This is an excellent opportunity to start the year out right and get started on some financial strategies that can help you become debt free. Please feel free to contact Denise Willman or Laurie Bailey for more information.  This class costs $99 and is offered free for any former FPU graduates that would like to take it for a refresher course.  You may contact Denise at 606-665-2869 for more information.

- Tree of Life Ministry The Rosebud Reservation is the second poorest county in the entire USA.  Over 1,000 people depend on “Tree of Life” for free hot meals each week.  With cutbacks in food stamps, the ministry is more needed than ever.  Without an increase in financial support the ministry may have to curtail their food pantry and hot meal program during the winter months.  With that being said, the Missions Committee has committed to continue the Miles of Pennies into the New Year.

- 2014 Calendars, compliments of Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home, are now available. You can pick them up from the table in the Church Lounge or outside the Church Office.

- Faith and Home First United Methodist Church will be providing a study group for parents once a month.  We will plan to meet for 45 minutes the first Sunday of the month in the east end of Wesley Hall during the Sunday School hour at 9:45am, starting today.
